Emergency relief funds for the disabled community in Cambodia
Times are tough everywhere around the world and while Cambodia has recorded among the lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases globally, the financial impact of the pandemic and in particular Siem Reap, where tourism comprised 90% of the economy, has been vast. Businesses have shut down, people lost their jobs, and parents are struggling to pay for groceries and basic necessities for their family.
People with disabilities have been hardest hit by the pandemic in
Cambodia, as they have always been more vulnerable. Their income has now dropped to almost nothing while they do not have any savings to face the crisis.
During the last few months, we made the decision to support our 30 adult beneficiaries and their families by distributing rice, spices, and hygiene products.
Most of our beneficiaries have 1 to 2 children to feed and all of them are now unemployed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
However, a bag of 20 kg of rice and a bottle of fish sauce costs 20€ and can help feed a family of four for a whole month.
You can make a difference today by supporting us in order to offer a decent lifestyle to our beneficiaries and their families. We will be grateful for even the smallest contribution: every penny counts!
